Equine Global has an ecosystem of partners such as SAP, Oracle, AWS, Salesforce, Tableau, Informatica, Automation Anywhere, Fortinet, Trendmicro, Dell, and IBM.

This corporate action aims to increase IBM’s resources and capabilities to help clients in Indonesia modernize their core businesses, and improve their hybrid cloud and AI transformation.

Deep Bhau, Managing Partner Indonesia, IBM Consulting said, this acquisition will increase IBM’s ability to meet the increasing needs of clients in Indonesia for digital services.

“Equine Global’s closeness to clients, local assets and hybrid cloud experience will support IBM in helping clients to innovate quickly, driving business transformation in Indonesia,” said Deep Bhau, on October 31, 2023.

Indonesia is a rapidly growing market, accompanied by rapid digitalization. The Indonesian government has also designed a roadmap to achieve comprehensive digital transformation.

Equine Global is IBM’s first acquisition based in Indonesia. This emphasizes IBM’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Indonesia and helping clients carry out digital transformation.

Eko Heryanto, Equine Global CEO stated that the company’s experience and relationships with the financial services, industrial and telecommunications sectors in Indonesia will complement IBM’s expertise in the industry and its strategic client base.

He explained that IBM together with Equine Global can provide broader hybrid cloud solutions, build next generation data solutions and help clients apply enterprise-scale AI.

“This acquisition is an important moment in our journey to support our customers. We are proud to be able to join IBM to provide solutions that answer industrial needs,” said Eko.

IBM’s acquisition of Equine is subject to applicable closing conditions and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023. After closing the transaction, Equine Global will merge with IBM Consulting, enhancing IBM Consulting’s business transformation services in Indonesia.

The IBM and Equine Global acquisition deal marks IBM’s ninth acquisition in 2023. Since Arvind Khrisna became CEO of IBM in April 2020, the company has acquired more than 30 companies to enhance their capabilities in hybrid cloud and AI.
