Indonesia explores dairy industry cooperation with Estonia
Foreign Minister Sugiono has expressed Indonesia’s interest in exploring potential cooperation opportunities in the dairy industry with Estonia.
This initiative was discussed during a courtesy call from Estonian Ambassador to Indonesia, Singapore, and ASEAN, Priit Turk, at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
During the meeting, both parties also discussed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in trade, investment, and digitalization.
Minister Sugiono emphasized the need to enhance business-to-business and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
"We need to explore new opportunities to foster more intensive business-to-business and people-to-people relations," Sugiono said.
In 2024, total trade between Indonesia and Estonia reached US$540 million, marking a 47.95 percent increase from the previous year. Estonia’s investment in Indonesia in 2024 stood at US$5.8 million, with significant potential for further expansion in the future.
Sugiono also expressed hopes of strengthening digital cooperation with Estonia, including in the area of cybersecurity.
Beyond bilateral issues, Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Priit Turk also exchanged views on regional and global matters, particularly developments in the Middle East, including Palestine, and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
