Government inaugurates US$130 million Akatara Gas Project in Jambi
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, inaugurated on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 the US$130 million Akatara Gas Processing Facilities (AGPF) project in Bram Itam Raya Village, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province.
This gas processing facility is managed by Jadestone Energy (Lemang) Pte. Ltd., an independent upstream company, and is expected to make a significant contribution to national energy security and the regional economy. The planned gas production target reaches 25.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), LPG of 185 metric tons per day, and 1,098 barrels of condensate per day.
"We hope that the investment made by JadestoneEnergy will increase investment activities in Jambi Province," Yuliot said.
He cited the efficiency of the integrated facility, which not only produces natural gas, but also LPG in the form of 3-kilogram cylinders that are much needed by the community, as well as condensate.
The government, Yuliot continued, will encourage the acceleration of energy development and make Jadestone a benchmark in terms of efficiency, time, and local economic impact.
Meanwhile, Head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) Djoko Siswanto said that this project includes three main activities: construction of a gas plant equipped with LPG processing facilities, a gas metering station, and pipe installation.
All production results will be allocated for domestic needs, including to a subsidiary of State power utility company PT PLN, PLN Batam; a subholding of state owned energy company PT Pertamina, Pertamina Patra Niaga; Liquefied Petroleum Gas product provider company Kimia Yasa; and condensate to PT Laban Raya Samodra, a petrochemical supplier company.
General Manager of Jadestone Energy, Andi Iwan Uzamah, said that his company is determined to maintain production sustainability and continue to develop the Lemang work area.
"We support national oil and gas production and will continue to contribute to the Asia-Pacific region," he said.
Besides Indonesia, the company also has a portfolio of production and development assets in Australia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
