Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Pandu Sjahrir, has revealed of Qatar and Danantara's investment plan worth US$2 billion (Rp33.4 trillion).
This planned investment was agreed upon a meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
In the meeting, the two heads of state also witnessed the signing of a number of important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) which are believed to further strengthen economic, investment and development relations between Indonesia and Qatar.
"Pak Prabowo has also spoken with Qatar to invest funds, to conduct a joint investment fund with Qatar (the funds) of US$4 billion," Pandu said on Monday, April 14, 2025.
According to Pandu, this investment will be directed to support joint projects with Danantara. He said the investment funds will be focused on sectors that are in line with the priorities of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet, such as food security, energy, downstreaming of natural resources, and development of digital infrastructure.
