MODENA Group, a prominent player in Indonesia’s household appliances industry, is diversifying its portfolio with the introduction of MODENA Energy, a subsidiary aimed at pioneering renewable energy solutions.

At the launch event held in Jakarta on Monday, April 22, 2024, Gian N. Pratama, Vice President of MODENA Energy, articulated the company’s dedication to supporting the Indonesian government’s vision of promoting renewable energy adoption across the nation.

With a focus on solar energy, MODENA Energy aims to revolutionize the energy landscape through innovative solar pad and battery products.

Pratama emphasized that MODENA Energy is not merely a business venture but a strategic initiative aligned with MODENA Group’s overarching sustainability objectives.

By introducing solar pad and battery solutions, MODENA Energy seeks to empower Indonesian households and businesses to transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

Acknowledging Indonesia’s vast solar energy potential, Fabby Tumiwa, Chairman of the Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI), highlighted the pivotal role solar energy can play in the country’s energy transition.

With a reported potential of 3,400 Gigawatts (GW), solar energy holds the promise of becoming the backbone of Indonesia’s energy landscape.

MODENA Energy’s ambition extends beyond residential applications to encompass commercial and industrial sectors. The company offers Solar Pad Systems ranging from 1,100 watts peak for residential use to 300 kilowatts peak (kWp) for commercial installations.

By catering to diverse energy needs, MODENA Energy aims to democratize access to renewable energy solutions across Indonesia.

Moreover, MODENA Energy’s initiatives align with broader efforts to reduce carbon footprint and enhance energy efficiency. Currently, approximately 20 percent of MODENA Group’s energy requirements are met through renewable sources, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability in its operations.

In the face of climate change challenges and the imperative for sustainable development, MODENA Energy’s entry into the renewable energy sector represents a significant step towards realizing Indonesia’s clean energy ambitions.

By fostering innovation and collaboration, MODENA Energy endeavors to pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come, Pratama said.
