Despite the recent protest and rejection against the Israeli national football team, which leads to the cancellation of the U-20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Indonesia in May 2023, it is interesting to know that Indonesia trade between Indonesia and Israel was improving in the past five years.

According to data from the Ministry of Trade, Indonesia’s total export value to Israel in 2022 had reached US$185.6 million, which equals to a 14 percent increase compared to the previous year (YoY). Meanwhile, the total import value from Israel also increased by about 80 percent (YoY) to US$47.8 million.

Cumulatively, during the period of 2018-2022, Indonesia’s export value to Israel has increased by approximately 11 percent, while its import value has grown by 0.9 percent.

In 2022, the primary imported commodities from Israel were heating and cooling equipment such as Air Conditioners (AC), heat pumps, and geothermal heat pumps, among others.

Not only that, Indonesia imports a significant quantity of equipment and machinery from Israel, including television signal receivers, electric circuit equipment, as well as printing and binding machines.

On the other hand, Indonesia also regularly exports to Israel. Indonesia’s primary export commodity to Israel was Crude Palm Oil (CPO), reaching up to 22,000 tons in January 2022.
