Prabowo meets Singapore PM, discussess strengthened defense cooperation

Singapore − Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong at the Istana in Singapore on Saturday, June 1, 2024, discussing efforts to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, Defence Minister Prabowo expressed his gratitude to Lawrence Wong for the warm welcome and hospitality given during the Shangri-La Dialogue 2024 event.

In addition, Prabowo congratulated Lawrence Wong on his appointment as the new Prime Minister of Singapore. Prabowo also expressed his appreciation for the good leadership and communication that PM Wong has built with the Indonesian government.

“Indonesia is committed to strengthening bilateral relations with Singapore. The Indonesian Ministry of Defense is ready to increase defense cooperation, especially after the implementation of the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA), including joint exercises, maritime security, and educational exchange program,’ Prabowo said.
