Jakarta − Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto met with Danish Ambassador Sten Frimodt Nielsen in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, discussing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of defense.
“I hope that the relationship between Indonesia and Denmark on defense will strengthen in the future,” Prabowo said.
The Indonesia-Denmark defense cooperation has been accommodated by the two countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs through the 2017-2020 Plan of Action (POA).
One evidence of defense industry cooperation between Indonesia and Denmark that has been established is the cooperation between Indonesian shipbuilder PT PAL and Terma A/S, a Danish weapon and aerospace manufacturer for both civilian and military applications, in the provision of combat systems for the 60 M fast missile boat (KCR) and Hospital Ship in 2018.
Accompanying Prabowo in the meeting was Special Assistant to the Defense Minister for Defense Management Lieutenant General (ret) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.
