Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, is in Singapore for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Ministerial Meetings currently underway since Wednesday until Sunday, June 9, 2024.
His participation at the regional economic meeting aims to enhance Indonesia’s significant role in the IPEF and regional cooperation in the Indo-Pacific that will expectedly benefit Indonesia’s economic growth.
At the IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum (CEIF) and the 6th Bilateral Economic Working Groups (EWG) Ministerial Meeting, Airlangga is set for bilateral meetings with leaders from several friendly nations.
Before these, he will attend the IPEF Ministerial Meeting, discussing follow-up on Pillar II (Supply Chain), signing Pillar III (Clean Economy) and Pillar IV (Fair Economy), and the Overarching Agreement.
On his first day in Singapore, Airlangga met with US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo discussing the ratification process of Pillar II (Supply Chain) among IPEF member countries.
Following this, he will hold a bilateral meeting with South Korea’s Minister of Trade to sign an MoU related to the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. He is also scheduled to meet Japan’s State Minister Tsuji Kiyoto and Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, and other officials.
Additionally, Airlangga will be a panelist at the Sustainable Infrastructure Dialogue during the CEIF, where he will present Indonesia’s sustainable infrastructure policies. He is accompanied by Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Susiwijono, along with expert teams and officials from the ministry.
