Prabowo-Gibran officially wins 2024 Presidential Election

The pair of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka has officially won the 2024 Presidential Election and become president and vice president of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period.

The number 2 pair’s victory was announced af the completion of an open plenary meeting of the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Wednesday evening, March 20, 2024.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy’ari read out the General Elections Decree on the Establishment of Election Results for the President, House of Representatives, Regional Representatives Council (DPD), Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD 1), and Regency Legislative Council ( DPRD 2) nationally in the 2024 General Election.

The results of the 2024 presidential election are based on the minutes of the  national vote tally of the 2024 presidential election, in which Prabowo-Gibran managed to get 96,214,691 votes.

“Establishing the results of the presidential and vice-presidential elections nationally based on minutes of the national vote tally Number 218/PL.01.08-BA/05/2024 in the 2024 General Elections,” Hasyim said while reading the election results at the KPU Building.

Then, at second place was pair number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, with 40,971,906 votes. Meanwhile, the number of valid votes for pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD was 27,040,878 votes.

The announcement was attended by a number of high-ranking state officials such as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, and Chairman of Commission II DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia.

Results based on the KPU Decree 

1. Anies Baswedan – Muhaimin Iskandar: 40,971,906 votes (24.94 percent) 

2. Prabowo Subianto – Gibran Rakabuming Raka: 96,214,691 votes (58.58 percent) 

3. Ganjar Pranowo – Mahfud MD: 27,040,878 votes (16.47 percent)
