Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono has disclosed the planned support allocation for the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) project in 2024, which amounts to Rp35.45 trillion (approximately $2.5 billion USD).

“This year’s infrastructure support for IKN is allocated Rp35.45 trillion. In 2023, it was Rp24 trillion, so around Rp60 trillion in total,” Basuki told a hearing with Commission V of the DPR on Monday, April 1, 2024.

This planned budget allocation will be divided into four sectors, namely water resources, highways, construction, and housing.

For the Directorate General of Water Resources, the budget will be used for flood control in the Sanggai River Basin, completion of the Sepaku Semoi dam, and construction of reservoirs in the Core Center of Government Area (KIPP).

For the Directorate General of Highways, Basuki said that the planned allocation of funds will be around Rp16.67 trillion. “The budget is for continuing the construction of the national axis roads on the west and east sides, district roads in the IKN area, toll roads sections 3a, 3b, 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b, and 6c-1, and the IKN airport on the runway side,” Basuki said.

Furthermore, the budget allocation that the Directorate General of Construction will receive is Rp11.44 trillion. This allocation will be used, among others, for building water treatment plants and supporting buildings for clean water supply, wastewater treatment plant networks, and solid waste management facilities. It will also be used for the construction of fire projection systems at KIPP phase 1, buildings in the presidential palace area, coordinating ministry offices, and other ministries.

“For the Directorate General of Housing, Rp5.76 trillion will be allocated for the continuation of the construction of ministerial housing and the construction of apartment buildings for civil servants and defense personnel,” Basuki said.
