Indonesian Army Chief discusses military, border issues with Malaysian counterpart

Indonesian Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak met with Malaysian Army Chief, General Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, discussing joint military training, soldier professionalism and border issues.

“May the friendship and cooperation between the two Armies continue to increase, with a commitment and high spirit, so that together we can maintain stability and security in the Southeast Asian region,” General Maruli told his Malaysian counterpart.

Maruli emphasized that this meeting is part of the efforts by both army institutions to strengthen bilateral relations and as an appreciation for the good cooperation that has existed so far.

General Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan welcomed the initiative. He said that continuing the good relationship between the two Armies would have a positive impact on relations between the two countries.
