Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Hasto Kristiyanto, said that the volunteers group of former Governor Anies Baswedan (Anak Abah) had  supported the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno pair in the upcoming Jakarta Gubernatorial Election.

“Thank you for the support of the volunteers, civil society groups and fellow press, also in Jakarta specifically the support from Anak Abah,” Hasto said on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

He said that PDI-P is a party that moves from ideological beliefs and dedication. According to him, anyone who joins PDI-P means uniting themselves in the same interests.

He maintained that PDIP is still building communication with Anies Baswedan. According to him, PDI-P and Anies are united by the same spirit.

“Oppression in the democratic system by certain people, certain families, then this gives rise to a countercurrent of resistance, so that’s the communication we do,” he said.

Anak Abah and the volunteers group of former Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahokers) previously declared support for Pramono-Rano in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Anies himself has also met with Pramono-Rano.
