President Prabowo Subianto has set the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) for the next five years, approving a total budget of Rp48.8 trillion (US$ 3 billion).

The majority of the budget is used for the construction of parliamentary buildings and judicial institutions along with supporting infrastructure.

Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, said that the budget amount was funding for the second phase of IKN development, namely the 2025-2029 period.

“President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the budget for the continuation of the IKN Development of Rp48.8 trillion has been approved,” AHY said on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

The development of the IKN will also use non-budgetary funds from the State Budget (APBN) sector, such as private sector investment and the Government-Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) strategy.

In addition, the government also announced the amount of the IKN authority budget in 2025 amounting to Rp15 trillion. Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the IKN Authority, cited that the amount came from the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) of Rp6.3 trillion and an additional Rp8.1 trillion for the construction of judicial and legislative institution facilities in the IKN in the first year.

“I think this is enough for us because it is according to plan, and everything will be completed in the next 2 to 3 years with Rp48.8 trillion,” Basuki said on the same occasion.
