President Prabowo Subianto has announced that he will launch on Monday, February 24, 2025, the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Agency (Danantara), a sovereign wealth fund agency that will manage US$900 billion (Rp14,616 trillion) in assets under management (AUM).

“We are preparing the launch of Danantara Indonesia, the newest sovereign wealth fund institution which according to our initial evaluation will manage more than US$900 billion in assets under management (AUM) which will be launched on February 24,” Prabowo said, on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

He said Danantara will manage investments in natural resources and state assets into sustainable and high-impact projects in various sectors. Among them are renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, and food production.

President Prabowo hopes the project can contribute to achieving Indonesia’s economic growth target of 8 percent. He said Danantara’s initial funding is projected to reach US$20 billion.

“I think this will be a transformative step. We are planning to start about 15 to 20 projects worth billions of dollars, which will create significant value addition for our country,” he said.

Previously, the government canceled the launch of Danantara which was initially planned for January 16, 2025. The government is waiting for the ratification of the revised State-Owned Enterprises Law (RUU BUMN).
