President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the continuation of the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) development under his presidency, stressing its completion within four years, an aide has said..
“Pak Prabowo even has a plan to complete the construction of the IKN in four years,” Minister of Forestry who is also Acting Deputy Head of the IKNAuthority, Raja Juli Antoni, said as quoted on his X account on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Similarly, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said that the construction of the IKN will continue during the Prabowo Subianto administration.
The issue of the construction of the IKN was one of the four points conveyed by Prabowo while addressing the second day of the cabinet members’ retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java.
According to him, Prabowo is committed to completing the mega projects, so that components of the government, both executive and legislative, as well as government employees can work there.
“He [Prabowo] is committed to continuing the construction of the IKN until it is ready for use,” Prasetyo said on the sidelines of the cabinet members’ retreat on Sunday.
Prasetyo added that during that time Prabowo will also inaugurate then Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono as Head of the IKN Authority.
“That’s it. Pak Basuki has been asked to continue his role as Head of the IKN Authority,” he said.
Basuki had been appointed as Acting Head of the IKN Authority since June 2024 following the resignation of Bambang Susantono as Head of the Authority.
Prasetyo, however, admitted that he had not received information on the date when Basuki will be inaugurated as Head of the IKN Authority, nor who will be his deputy.
