ACEN, a public energy company from Philippine-based Ayala group, has partnered with PT Barito Renewables Energy to accelerate the development of wind energy projects across Indonesia, marking a significant step towards advancing renewable energy in the country.
The strategic alliance will be implemented through ACEN’s subsidiary, ACEN Indonesia Investment Holdings Pte Ltd, and Barito Renewables’ subsidiary, PT Barito Wind Energy.
Effective immediately, this partnership unites two industry leaders who share a common vision of driving the energy transition towards sustainability in Indonesia.
This collaboration builds upon a significant acquisition in 2024 of three late-stage wind energy development assets located in South Sulawesi, Sukabumi, and Lombok.
These assets collectively offer a potential capacity of 320 MW of wind energy, supplemented by advanced battery energy storage solutions aimed at enhancing grid stability and efficiency across the region.
Patrice Clausse, ACEN’s Group Chief Investment Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the exclusive partnership with Barito Renewables.
“This is a bold step forward in our commitment to advancing the renewable energy sector in Indonesia,” he said in a media statement quoted on Friday, August 30, 2024.
“It not only aligns with ACEN’s growth strategy in the region but also exemplifies our dedication to promoting innovative and sustainable energy solutions,” he added.
Hendra Tan, Chief Executive Officer of Barito Renewables, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership in realizing Barito Renewables’ mission to drive sustainable energy growth in Indonesia.
“This strategic move reaffirms our commitment to pioneering renewable energy solutions and contributing to a greener future,” Hendra said.
The partnership signifies a strong commitment to exploring and developing innovative wind energy projects that will play a crucial role in Indonesia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
By combining the strengths of both companies, the collaboration aims to lead Indonesia’s journey towards decarbonization, ensuring the provision of clean, reliable, and sustainable energy to meet the country’s growing needs.
This partnership not only supports Indonesia’s renewable energy goals but also represents a shared vision for a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
Through this collaboration, ACEN and Barito Renewables are set to play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s energy landscape and advancing its renewable energy ambitions.
