The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned top executives of State-owned gas distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) on Monday, June 10, 2024, to testify as witnesses in an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption in the company.

The summons is part of an investigation into suspected corruption involving gas transactions between PGN and PT Inti Alasindo Energi (IAE) from 2017 to 2021.

“The questioning of witnesses relates to alleged corruption in the gas sales and purchase transactions between PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) and PT Inti Alasindo Energi (IAE) from 2017 to 2021,” KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo told a press conference.

Among the witnesses summoned are Corporate Secretary of PGN, Bagas; Chief Commissioner of IAE, Arso Sadewo; and the company’s Director of Infrastructure & Technology in 2019; Dilo Seno Widagdo, PGN’s Commercial Director in 2019; and Fadjar Harianto Widodo, PGN’s Director of Finance and Risk Management since 2021.

Others were Iswan Ibrahim, President Director of PT ISARGAS since 2011 and Commissioner of IAE since 2006; Jobi Triananda Hasjim, PGN’s President Director from 2017-2018 and now President Director of PT Sucofindo in 2023; Octavianus Lede Mude Ragawino, Department Head of Gas Supply Division at PGN from 2017-2020; and Sunanto, Division Head of Government Community Relations and Acting Corporate Secretary of PGN.

On May 13, 2024, KPK announced that it had launched an investigation into suspected corruption at PGN for the 2018-2020 fiscal years, following an audit by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). The KPK estimates that the alleged corruption resulted in state financial losses amounting to hundreds of billions of rupiah.

The alleged corruption pertains to gas sales transactions between PGN and a company identified as PT IG during the 2018-2020 period. Consequently, the KPK has issued a travel ban against two individuals involved in the case − one government official and one private sector entity.
