Wuling Motors has announced a strategic collaboration with three Indonesian state-owned enterprises (BUMN) to facilitate the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and create a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem.
Wuling partners with PLN Icon Plus, Bank Mandiri, and Telkomsel to enhance electric vehicle infrastructure in Indonesia.
Recognizing the need for a robust EV ecosystem to address potential challenges during the use of electric vehicles, Wuling aims to expedite the development of adequate EV infrastructure through this collaborative effort.
“We continue to open the door for collaboration and invite various parties with the same vision of building an electric vehicle ecosystem to accelerate electrification in Indonesia,” stated Arif Pramadana, Vice President of Wuling Motors, on December 17, 2023.
Under the memorandum of understanding titled “EVolution Indonesia: Accelerating Sustainable Ecosystem for a Greener Future,” the collaboration aims to achieve the following:
PLN Icon Plus: Focuses on enhancing the public charging infrastructure network (SPKLU) and providing home charging solutions.
- Bank Mandiri: Supports the initiative financially by offering Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) financing solutions. This commitment from Bank Mandiri is aligned with Wuling’s goal to assist prospective customers in accessing financing options, making transactions more seamless.
- Telkomsel: As a telecommunications service provider, Telkomsel will contribute by enabling Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity for electric vehicles. Telkomsel plans to engage in campaigns that offer products tailored to customer preferences and needs, leveraging its extensive customer base of over 158.3 million.
- Indra Mardiatna, Director of Network at Telkomsel, emphasized the commitment to ensuring the availability of assets and cutting-edge network infrastructure for Telkomsel customers and Wuling electric vehicle owners throughout Indonesia.
“By striving to create a carbon-emission-free environmental impact in sustainable business processes, Telkomsel continues to implement ESG principles. We hope to support the sustainability of the earth and the environment inclusively and sustainably,” He stated.
Through this collaborative initiative, Wuling aims to contribute to the development of a vibrant electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, encompassing charging infrastructure, financial support, and advanced connectivity solutions.
