Indonesia- Sweden Agreed to Cooperate in Four Sectors

Indonesia and Sweden government have agreed to cooperate in four sectors as part of Sweden-Indonesia’s Sustainability Partnership. The four sectors are transportation, energy, health care sector and mining industry.

The cooperation was implemented in the signing of four MoU during Sweden -Indonesia Sustainability Partnership from December 6 to 8,2023 in Jakarta.
The MoU includes :

  • MoU on the cooperation in sustainable transportation between the government of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Sweden,
  • MoU on the cooperation in sustainable infrastructure in transportation sector, energy, waste management and health care sectors between Indonesia and Sweden Business and Service.
  • MoU on tidal power plant pilot project in East Indonesia between Waves4Power and PLN Nusantara Power
  • Strategic Partnership on clean water distribution between Bluewater and PIPA.

Indonesia-Sweden Strengthen Sustainable Business

Sweden Ambassador to Indonesia Daniel Blocker said that strong partnership between Indonesia and Sweden is important in achieving sustainable future. “By strong collaboration, we can achieve environmental friendly transition that spur economic growth as well as maintaining environmental balance, ” he said in Sweden -Indonesia Sustainability Partnership on December 8, 2023.

Sweden’s Trade Commissioner for Indonesia Erik Odar also attended the forum . Odar said Sweden has a commitment to provide latest solution to support Indonesia green transition. ” Sweden -Indonesia Sustainable Partnership is an ideal platform to strengthen sustainable business partnership between Sweden and Indonesia,” he said.

Tidal Power Plant

Indonesia and Sweden have agreed to develop tidal power plant project in East Indonesia . The power plant will be developed by Sweden’s company Waves4Power and PLN Nusantara Power.

” The collaboration is related to the preparation of technology installation project by testing on the availability of tidal power plant, ” said Odar, without elaborating further on the specific date and location of the project that will be tested in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

The Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) is a dialog platform of various parties to promote collaboration between Sweden and Indonesia in order to achieve 2023 Sustainable Development Goals.
The SISP Conference has a function as a platform for leaders from the government, academicians, and private sectors to meet and shares their experiences in various sectors under sustainability theme.
