Two consortiums, Summarecon and Nusantara, will start building 66 apartment towers in the National Capital City (IKN) next month.
The Nusantara Consortium is the result of collaboration between PT Risjadson Brunsfield Nusantara and China Construction First Group Corp Ltd.
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the status of the apartments to be built by the two consortiums was unsolicited or initiated by the private sector.
However, Haryo Bekti Martoyoedo, Director of Housing Financing Implementation at the Ministry of PUPR, said that the feasibility of the two consortia is being studied by the Building Reliability Committee (KKBG) and the results will be presented in the near future.
The results of this study will later determine whether the two consortiums can build the apartment towers in IKN. The results of this study are basic design improvements that must be carried out by Summarecon and the Nusantara Consortium before starting construction.
If approved, Haryo noted that Summarecon will build six towers. Meanwhile, the Nusantara consortium will build 60 towers.
Haryo noted that the six towers built by Summarecon could provide 252 housing units with an area of 98 square meters per unit.
All apartment units will be equipped with furniture. This means that the qualifications for the towers built by the private sector are the same as those of the government.
In total, the target is to build 102 apartment towers in IKN with the Government Cooperation with Business Entities (KPBU) scheme.
The majority of towers were built outside the Central Government Core Area (KIPP). Meanwhile at KIPP, there are 31 flat towers. A total of 26 of them will be built through the state budget, and the rest through PPP.
All of them are targeted to be completed next year, which is expected to be completed before the independence ceremony on August 17, 2024 at IKN.
“In August 2024 it is hoped that there will be a ceremony at the IKN. This means that before that there must be apartment towers,” said Haryo.
