Positive financial performance of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) drives growth

State-Owned Enterprises in the financial sector had provided the largest contribution to revenue generated by government-owned companies in the year 2022.

The estimated consolidated revenue of all state-owned enterprises in 2022 reached up to IDR 303.7 trillion.

Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir mentioned that state-owned enterprises in the financial sector placed in the first position among the other 12 state-owned enterprises clusters.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk recorded a revenue of IDR 51.4 trillion, a number 67.15 percent higher, year-on-year.

On second position comes PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk with IDR 41.2 trillion revenue, a number 67.15 percent higher, year-on-year.

PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (Persero) comes next with a total of IDR 18.31 trillion revenue. This number is 68 percent higher compared to the number recorded in 2021.

Next in line is PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (Persero) with a revenue of more than IDR 3 trillion.

“Based on the 12 clusters of state-owned enterprises, the financial sector has the highest contribution, there’s BRI with almost over IDR 50 trillion, BTN over IDR 3 trillion, BNI over IDR 18 trillion, Bank Mandiri over IDR 41 trillion,” Erick said.

Another cluster that provides significant contribution was the telecommunication sector. In this sector, PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk and PT Telkomsel recorded IDR 26 trillion revenue in total.

In addition, the insurance and pension sector recorded positive number. Three state-owned enterprises in this sector are, among others, PT Asabri (persero), PT Taspen (Persero), and state-owned enterprises insurance holding Indonesia Financial Group(IFG).

IFG recorded a revenue of IDR 3.44 trillion, a number 0.5 percent higher compared to the previous year. Meanwhile Asabri and Taspen recorded a revenue of IDR 3.8 trillion and IDR 156 billion, respectively.

Erick added that in the logistic sector, PT Pelindo recorded a revenue of over IDR 4 trillion and ASDP recorded a revenue of IDR 456 billion.

The list of the state-owned enterprises is as follows:

  7. Indonesia Financial Group – IDR 3.44 trillion
  8. ASDP – IDR 456 billion.
