Firli Bahuri, chairman of KPK alleged corruption, and leaks reports received by Metro Jaya Regional Police

The Metro Jaya Regional Police received a total of 6 reports related to the Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri. Two of the reports were filed by anti-corruption organization.

One of the reporting parties, the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) organization, filed a report concerning leaks of KPK documents.

Boyamin Saiman, Coordinator of MAKI, said that there were two people suspected of leaking documents regarding the examination of suspected corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with identities that were not disclosed.

Second, a report from Brigadier General Endar Priantoro who complained about Cahya Hardianto Harefa, Secretary General of the KPK; and Zuraida Retno Pamungkas, Head of the Human Resources (HR) Bureau of the KPK to Polda Metro Jaya.

The report was made in relation to the dismissal of Priantoro, arbitrary actions in handling the Formula E case, as well as leaks of documents investigating the alleged corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (ESDM).

“The report will be further examined by Polda Metro Jaya, and study the incident reported and the reporter’s connection with the incident,” said Senior Commissioner Trunoyudo Wisnu Andika, Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, April 12, 2023.

Apart from that, Priantoro also previously reported KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to the KPK Supervisory Board. The complaint resulted in the dismissal of Priantoro from the KPK. The report was made on a violation of the code of ethics by leaders of the KPK in the decision to dismiss him as the Director of Investigation at the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK.
