PT Mega Perintis Tbk (ZONE) has added 23 new booths in the first half of 2022 and will add the remaining 17 outlets in the later half for offline sales, while also developing support for online sales. Based on the company’s financial statements, its net profit in the first semester of 2022 reached IDR52 billion, a 184% increase from the first semester of 2021.

Mega Perintis Group is a retail company focusing on men’s fashion. The company consists of few subsidiaries to support its business. Mega Perintis runs the retail business, while Mitrelindo Global conducts business for international brands and Mega Putra Garment focuses on manufacturing. The company handles famous brands such as Nike, Manzone, Puma, Adidas and more.

President Director Verosito Gunawan said the January-June 2022 sales increased by 33% to IDR355.7 billion, compared to the same period last year of IDR266.8 billion.

Gunawan said the company aimed to create a new concept for new outlets which is Salezone, which combines lifestyle outlets and sportswear discounted stores with a target market outside shopping centers. Those outlets will be developed in several areas such as transit/rest areas along the toll road and stand-alone shops. The company has also acquired the EDWIN jeans license brand and merchandise inventory from PT Sapta Kharisma Cemerlang in April 2022.

Due to the increasing trend of omni-channel sales, the company has also created a special division to support online sales. The division will manage online sales though various marketplace or their own websites.

“With a number of business steps that we have taken, we believe to achieve our sales target in 2022, up 20% compared to the year 2021. Going forward, with business prospects getting brighter, we will continue to take strategic steps, not only by adding outlets but also adaptation, especially in the development of digitalization, so that the company can prepare itself to become an omni-channel retailer,” Gunawan said on August 4.

He explained that the positive performance in the first semester was due to the economic recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as an important moment for the fashion industry, namely the Idul Fitri holidays.

President Commissioner Franxiscus Afat Adinata Nursalim agreed, saying that the first semester saw an increase in people’s purchasing power. However, there is no sign that COVID-19 pandemic will end while the people’s purchasing power might be weaker from the increasing prices of fuel and basic needs.
