The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) along with the contractor cooperation contract (KKKS) PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) have successfully carried out the onstream Project SWP-G LLP Liquid Debottlenecking in the Mahakam Working Area, East Kalimantan, on April 21, 2024.

“The SWP-G LLP Liquid Debottlenecking project is a significant milestone as the first upstream oil and gas project to go onstream in 2024 out of a total of 15 projects we have planned,” said Head of Program and Communication Division of SKK Migas Hudi D. Suryodipuro in a press release on Saturday (27/4/2024).

The project aims to optimize the performance of the installed LLP Booster Compressor, which has been onstream since early May 2021. With the successful installation of new liquid transfer pumps, the project has increased production by 5.4 billion cubic feet (BCF) of gas and 14,000 barrels (kbbl) of condensate.

The new liquid transfer pump can accommodate a liquid rate of up to 3,600 barrels per day (bpd), an increase from the previous capacity of only 330 bpd. “The installation of 2 new liquid transfer pump units with a capacity of 2 x 2,113 bpd and 1 unit of diesel engine generator with a capacity of 50 kVA is a vital part of this project,” said Hudi.

SKK Migas hopes that the success of the SWP-G LLP Liquid Debottlenecking Project will significantly contribute to increasing national gas production.

“We also continue to encourage all KKKS to maximize efforts in developing the national oil and gas potential, including timely completion of onstream projects,” he said.

Meanwhile, PHM General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi explained that the Company continues to maintain and improve the reliability of the Company’s operational facilities to support oil and gas production sustainability and national energy resilience.

“The SWP-G LLP Liquid Debottlenecking Project in the Mahakam Working Area is a manifestation of the Company’s commitment to implementing best practices in the national and global oil and gas industry to maintain the production levels of managed oil and gas fields,” said Setyo.

He added that PHM is committed to conducting safe, reliable, environmentally friendly oil and gas operations and complying with all applicable regulations and laws. SKK Migas targets that 15 upstream oil and gas projects will go onstream in 2024.

These projects are expected to provide additional oil production of 46,837 barrels per day (bopd) and additional gas production of 351 million cubic feet per day (MMscfd) and 192 MT/D LPG.
