PT PLN (Persero) urges Indonesian startups to collaborate within its ecosystem, addressing challenges in the energy transition. PLN aims to leverage innovation from startups to overcome deficiencies in its energy transition program.
Darmawan Prasodjo, PLN’s CEO, emphasizes the importance of collaboration with startups during PLN Startup Day, providing an opportunity for startups to utilize PLN’s potential and complement its shortcomings in navigating the energy transition.
Darmawan invites startups to fill gaps or address deficiencies within PLN through innovation. The focus is on transitioning from fossil fuels to clean energy, aligning with the global shift towards sustainable practices.
With 85 million customers and assets exceeding USUS$ 110 billion, PLN offers significant collaborative potential. The goal is to join forces with startups focusing on clean energy to accelerate Indonesia’s energy transition.
Over 50 startups have been invited to discuss innovations in three key areas: Customer Focused and Smart Ecosystem, Alternative Energy, and Shared Economy Model. This includes discussions on Smart City, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Logistic, Warehouse, and Agritechnology innovations.

- Akar Farm: Specializing in Agricultural Technology, Akar Farm develops and distributes full-stack modular indoor framing for optimal plant growth without sunlight. Their innovative approach contributes to food stability and acceleration in Indonesia.
- FisTx: A startup in fisheries technology, FisTx focuses on disinfection technology, transitioning from chemical-based to environmentally friendly practices, ensuring residue-free solutions.
- Astrobike: Pioneering in eco-friendly transportation technology, Astrobike converts conventional vehicles into electric ones. The company has successfully converted numerous bicycles, motorcycles, and tricycles to electric power.
