PT Energi Selalu Baru (ESB) and PT Semolis Teknologi Indonesia (STI), subsidiaries of PT NFC Indonesia Tbk (IDX: NFCX), and PT M Cash Integrasi Tbk (MCAS) have set up partnership with Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian clean energy solutions provider, for Electric Vehicle Ecosystem development.

NFC  provides complete EV infrastructure from manufacturing electric motorbikes to battery exchange stations. While, Gentari is a clean energy solutions company, wholly owned by PETRONAS, tasked to independently pursue and deliver integrated sustainable energy solutions such as renewable energy, hydrogen, and green mobility.

ESB, STI, and Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd will collaborate on the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. This partnership involves Gentari’s acquisition of a number of Volta electric motorcycles and battery exchange stations (SGB) owned by ESB.

Volta operates entirely on electric power, supported by advanced Internet of Things (IoT) technology and a rapidly expanding SGB network. Volta and SGB will be operated and branded jointly by ESB and STI on behalf of Gentari to provide an economical EV ecosystem for motorcycle riders in Indonesia.

The collaboration between MCASH Group and Gentari is expected to provide low-carbon emission transportation solutions to customers, supporting environmentally friendly mobility in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

Through this collaboration, Gentari will leverage MCASH Group’s comprehensive infrastructure to provide green mobility solutions across Indonesia. This aligns with Gentari’s ambition to capture more than 10% of the public charging point market share and Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) in several key countries in the Asia-Pacific region by 2030.

Meanwhile, MCASH Group has sold more than 15,000 Volta electric motorcycles, established nearly 300 battery exchange stations, and conducted 3.7 million battery exchanges.

Suryandy Jahja, Managing Director of MCASH, said that electric motorcycles have significant growth potential and will gradually replace the 125 million gasoline-powered motorcycles in Indonesia, aligning with the government’s push towards clean energy.

“The rapidly growing clean energy division of the MCASH group and Gentari’s strong position with various partners and sustainable innovations will undoubtedly help us take further strides,” said Suryandy on Wedesday, December 27, 2023.
