The Indonesian Embassy in Sweden hosted the Indonesia Investment Forum (IIF) at the World Trade Centre, Stockholm, focusing on key investment opportunities in Indonesia.

The forum highlighted sectors such as renewable energy, digitalization, and sustainable infrastructure, aiming to strengthen economic ties between Indonesia and Sweden.

According to the press release from the Indonesian Embassy, the event brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and major investors from both nations. The forum aimed to facilitate business agreements and enhance Swedish investment in Indonesia.

Indonesian Ambassador to Sweden, Kamadiprata Isnomo, emphasized Indonesia’s welcoming stance towards Swedish investors, offering various growth opportunities in sectors of mutual interest.

“Now is the right time to expand our economic partnership. Indonesia is committed to working with Swedish companies to achieve shared, mutually beneficial goals, driving innovation and sustainability,” Ambassador Isnomo said on October 17, 2024.

The forum not only discussed potential investments but also highlighted the increasing Swedish investment in Indonesia.

Swedish investments in Indonesia reached US$172.65 million (Rp2.6 trillion) by the third quarter of 2024, a significant increase from the US$50.4 million (Rp780.9 billion) invested in 2023.

This surge reflects growing interest from Swedish companies, encouraged by Indonesia’s improving investment climate.

The forum attracted strong interest from Swedish business leaders, with 34 CEOs, COOs, program directors, and managers from various industries in attendance.

Key speakers at the event, including representatives from Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the Indonesian Central Bank (BI), State power utility company PT PLN, the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo), and the Swedish Trade Commissioner for Indonesia, reinforced Indonesia’s position as a dynamic investment destination with vast economic potential.

The forum marked an important step toward strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Indonesia and Sweden.

The Indonesian Embassy in Stockholm is determined to continue to facilitate dialogues to foster economic cooperation for a prosperous and sustainable future for both nations.
