Jakarta, June 4, 2024 − PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), a state-owned hospital holding, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cardiac Institute (IJN) of Malaysia. The collaboration is conducted to strengthen the field of health training and advance medical science in Indonesia.
IJN is a leading medical institution in Malaysia with more than 30 years of cardiovascular and thoracic care experience.
The signing of the MoU was done by the President Director of IHC Mira Dyah Wahyuni, and IJN Chief Executive Officer Aizai Azan Abdul Rahim on Monday, June 3, 2024 in Jakarta. Also present at the event were Assistant Deputy for Health Industry of the Indonesian Ministry of State-owned Enterprises Fadjar Judisiawan, IHC Medical Director Lia Gardenia Partakusuma, IJN Chief Executive Officer Akmal Arief Mohamed Fauzi, and IJN Strategic Management Position En Hilman Azmir Bin Hamdan.
This synergy is meant to improve the quality of health services in Indonesia. This collaboration is expected to produce doctors and health workers who are competent and of international standards, and contribute to the advancement of medical science in the country.
“We are very excited about the signing of this MoU with IJN. This collaboration is an important step for IHC to become a trusted leader of integrated healthcare services in Indonesia of international class,” Mira said in a statement on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
The MoU will be valid for three years and covers a broad scope of cooperation, including medical manpower development, where IHC and IJN will jointly develop excellent medical manpower through various training programs, such as fellowship training for cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, and cardiac surgeons, with the aim of improving the knowledge and skills of specialists in the fields of heart, anaesthesia, and cardiac surgery.
A joint continuing medical education program is also part of the MoU, which aims to ensure that doctors and other healthcare personnel are up-to-date with the latest medical science developments.
The improvement of healthcare services in Indonesia will also be realized through collaboration covering various initiatives, such as education promotion and joint branding to raise awareness of quality healthcare services.
In addition, IHC and IJN will develop and expand access to the latest e-health services. In terms of healthcare consultation, both parties will share knowledge and experience to ensure that patients receive the best care.
IJN Chief Executive Officer, Aizai Azan Abdul Rahim, said that the collaboration was built on a shared vision to strengthen healthcare provision while benefiting patients in both countries.
