Raline Shah, actress, philanthropist, public figure, and entrepreneur, was appointed as Special Staff for Global Partnerships and Digital Education at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Application (Komdigi) on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Raline entered the mainstream Indonesian entertainment scene with her appearance as one of the contestants of Puteri Indonesia 2008 beauty pageant representing North Sumatra, winning the title Putri Favorit Indonesia by popular vote.

“The perspective of the artist will certainly (make) Komdigi (more) colorful. We always believe that a rich perspective will make us rich in carrying out ideas,” Minister of Communication and Digital Application Meutya Hafid, said, on Monday, January 13, 2025.

According to Meutya, Raline was chosen not only because she is a celebrity, but also because she has many connections globally and is expected to strengthen the role of women in the future in Indonesia.

In addition, Meutya also asked Raline to educate the public regarding the use of digital services to help educate the public massively. It is hoped that through figures who are familiar with the public, the younger generation can hear more about better use of digital space.

“I get a lot of messages from parents about their concerns about how their children are using the internet,” Meutya said.
