Collaboration sought for settlement of Papua problems: Cendrawasih Military Chief

Chief of the Cenderawasih Regional Military Command, Major General Izak Pangemanan, calls for the importance of collaboration of stakeholders in seeking solutions for the Papua problems. The Cenderawasih Regional Military Command oversees military commands in the six provinces in Papua.

“Thank you for your cooperation because Papua problems must be solved together; it cannot be solved alone. Moreover, serving in Papua requires process and time, sacrifice, patience, and most importantly consistency,” the two-star general said while presiding over the handover ceremony of military unit chiefs within the Papua regions on Monday, May 6, 2024..

The ceremony on Monday saw among others the transfer of duties from Brigadier General Agus Widodo to Colonel Wempi Ramandei as Chief of the South Papua MIlitary Command, from Colonel Muhammad Albar to Colonel Rudianto as Territorial Assistant to the Cenderawasih Regional Military Commander, and from Colonel Eko Yuni Sulistyo to Colonel Laksono Puji Lisdyanto as Chief the Cenderawasih Regional Military Police Command.

On the occasion, Major General Izak also welcomed the new officers and expressed gratitude for their assignment to Papua, emphasizing the need for enthusiasm and steadfast commitment to be ready to be placed anywhere.
