Six major banks to begin construction of offices in IKN by mid-2025

Six major national and regional banks will soon begin construction of their offices in an effort to realize comprehensive banking services in the Core Government Center Area (KIPP) of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) prior to starting operation in the first quarter of 2026.

As an initial step in the construction of these banks, groundbreaking has been carried out in IKN. Construction is targeted to begin at the end of the first quarter to the second quarter of 2025 and can start operating early next year.

The six banks are Bank Central Asia (BCA), Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Negara Indonesia (BRI), Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), and Bankaltimtara.

“The presence of these six banks is not only in order to provide comprehensive banking services for the community, but also shows the confidence and commitment of the banking sector to support the acceleration of development projects in IKN,” Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, said on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

These banking offices will be built in Sub-WP 1B, which is a strategic area designed to be a financial center in IKN. The location is also one of the focuses of the second phase of IKN development for the 2025-2029 period.

Previously, representatives from each banks had expressed their readiness to begin construction on Friday, January 19, 2025. At the meeting, the IKN Authority (OIKN) expressed commitment to ensure the process of building banking offices in IKN.
