The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has launched a website − Renewable Energy Indonesia (REI) − in an effort to boost the interest of young Indonesians in the field of renewable energy.

This website − https://renewableenergy.id − was developed by the Center for Human Resource Development in Electricity, New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (PPSDM KEBTKE) under the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the ESDM ministry, in collaboration with the Renewable Energy Skills Development (RESD) project.

Susetyo Edi Prabowo, Head of PPSDM KEBTKE, said that the REI site aims to strengthen the renewable energy ecosystem in Indonesia by providing various information related to the sector.

“The information provided includes job vacancies, directories of companies and educational institutions, training, renewable energy certification, and a learning hub to explore various technical aspects and policies related to renewable energy,” Susetyo in a statement quoted on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

The site is expected to encourage the role of young people in expanding and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy. Susetyo added that the REI site serves as a one-stop platform to increase the interest of young people and the general public in the energy transition.

Additionally, job seekers can subscribe to receive job vacancy information in the renewable energy sector for free through this site.

The RESD project is a development collaboration between the Indonesian Government through BPSDM ESDM and the Swiss Government through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The aim of the project is to create a competent workforce in Indonesia’s renewable energy sector.

Susetyo hopes that with the participation of young people, academics, renewable energy industry players, and the general public as the main users of the REI platform, a broader impact can be created in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition towards a clean and sustainable energy era.
