PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), an upstream subholding of State energy company PT Pertamina which operates the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) Gas Field in Bojonegoro, East Java, has recorded a milestone with the JTB Field stably booking full capacity production of 192 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) for a long period of time.

“We appreciate PEPC’s achievements, especially Zone 12, which has reached full capacity production,” Pertamina’s Vice President for Corporate Communication, Fadjar Djoko Santoso said in a statement on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

The full capacity gas production achieved on May 22 has exceeded the JTB Project’s contractual requirement to perform the Gas Processing Facility (GPF) performance test for 3 X 24 hours.

“JTB’s 100 percent gas product is part of our contribution to achieving the global agenda towards energy transition into clean energy,” PEPC Zone 12 General Manager Mefredi said.

PEPC’s strategic role is to ensure smooth delivery of gas from the JTB Field through the Gresik-Semarang transmission pipeline to meet energy needs in East Java and Central Java. The JTB gas is currently distributed and absorbed by State-owned gas distribution company PT PGN, State electricity company PT PLN, Pertamina’s logistic subholding PT PKG, industry and for household gas distribution network Jargas.

The JTB Field has been operating and producing the first gas since September 20, 2022. Earlier, it has had the opportunity to produce 192 MMSCFD of gas, but for a short duration due to limited East Java-Central Java gas demand.
