Chinese electric motorcycle manufacturer Yadea has commenced the construction of a new factory in the Suryacipta Industrial Area, Karawang, West Java. The sprawling 27-hectare facility is slated to produce 3 million electric motorcycles annually.
Wang Jinlong, General Manager of Yadea Indonesia Manufacturing Company, expressed their commitment to delivering reliable and easy-to-maintain electric motorcycles.
He emphasized that the production of 3 million units is a strategic step to meet the rising demand for electric vehicles.
The new Yadea factory in Karawang will feature state-of-the-art production technology, including a pioneering hanging conveyor system for real-time and on-demand production.
Jinlong also highlighted the company’s special battery technology, claiming longer lifespan and faster charging times for Yadea’s batteries.
“We plan to unveil our flagship products by the end of the year,” he said.
The total investment for this electric motorcycle plant amounts to US$150 million or approximately Rp 2.4 trillion. Wang Jinlong explained that Karawang was selected due to its proximity to major population centers, Jakarta and West Java, and its favorable regulations supporting the development of electric vehicles.
Furthermore, he noted Karawang’s excellent road access, essential for companies in the automotive sector.
“Karawang, West Java, also boasts favorable regulations conducive for the development of electric vehicles,” Jinlong said.
