Minister of Public Works and People’s Housing Basuki Hadimuljono has the potential to serve once again in the Cabinet of the next government, says a House of Representatives (DPR) legislator.

A member of the House’s Commission V of the Democratic Party faction, Irwan Fecho, praised Basuki’s performance in the past 10 years.

“I wish that Mr. Basuki can continue to contribute to building this nation and be part of the next Indonesia Maju Cabinet,” Irwan said during the Commission’s hearing with Minister Basuki on Monday, April 4, 2024.

Irwan hopes that the Ministry of Public Works and Housing can continue to focus on developing the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) with equitable infrastructure development in 10 districts and cities in East Kalimantan. One of Irwan’s main points is the construction of evenly distributed and fair education infrastructure around the IKN.

“In regards with the presence of IKN, the priority is to develop evenly distributed and fair education infrastructure. Do not just focus on IKN, but also on the education facilities around IKN,” he said.

Concurring with Irwan, another Commission V member of the Gerindra Party faction, Mulyadi, appreciated what Basuki has done as Minister of Public Works and Housing over the past 10 years.
