Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), a subholding company of State energy company Pertamina, gears up to start operation of its three sustainable oil and gas onstream projects in March and April this year.

Dony Indrawan, Manager of Communication Relations and Community Involvement & Development (CID) said that preparation has been made since February 2024.

“Preparations through installation of production equipment are underway on the SWP-G, MWP-B and MWP-BA platforms,” Dony said as quoted by Katadata.co.id, on Friday, March 22, 2024.

According to the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas), PHM is included in the list of three of the fifteen projects planned to go onstream this year.

These projects include Peciko 8B and SWGP Debottlenecking in March 2024. Next April, the next project will be the Bekapai Artificial Lift.

“These three projects are expected to support the sustainability of PHM’s oil and gas production through potential additional production of around 15 Bcf of gas and 2.5 MMbbl of oil,” Dony said.

PHM continues to strive to achieve three onstream targets, through all the preparations that have been made.

“With the progress of this work, it is hoped that the project will go on stream according to plan,” said Donny.

So far, SKK Migas plans to target 15 oil and gas projects going onstream or starting production throughout the year, with a total capital expenditure (Capex) reaching US$ 560.1 million for the 15 projects.

“It is hoped that there will be oil production of 41,922 million barrels per day (BOPD) and gas of 324 million standard cubic meters per day (MMSCFD),” Dwi Soetjipto, Head of SKK Migas, said in January.

Apart from that, Dwi also said that he had planned to pursue 33 onstream oil and gas projects this year and start production in Indonesia from this year to 2027.

“In the future, we estimate what potential could increase oil and gas production in Indonesia, both in terms of oil and gas,” Dwi said on March 13, 2024.

He said further that while waiting for these oil and gas projects to come on stream, his party will continue to maintain oil and gas production by relying on the remaining reserves from fields that are currently still active.
