The largest construction company in Central Asia, BI Group of Kazakhstan, is exploring investment opportunities in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) as demonstrated by a recent visit by BI Group executives and a business delegation from Kazakhstan.

“This is the second business delegation from Kazakhstan. This time, we (the Indonesian Embassy in Kazakhstan) are bringing the largest construction company in Central Asia from Kazakhstan, namely BI Group,” M. Fadjroel Rachman, Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, said as quoted from the IKN website on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

“From the beginning, our goal in bringing BI Group is to increase their interest in investing in IKN. With their experience in building a new capital city and their multinational company status, we hope to see positive developments after this visit,” he added.

BI Group is a Kazakhstan multinational private construction company that has undertaken several major projects in Central Asia, notably the construction of Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan, which has become a modern capital city.

Agung Wicaksono, Deputy for Financing and Investment at the IKN Authority, said the frequency of visits by investors, particularly from BI Group, highlights the significant interest from foreign private companies.

“Hopefully, this indicates a growing interest in investing in IKN after the peaceful 2024 elections, which bring stability as a prerequisite for investment,” said Agung.

Metin Palik, Director of Global Business Development at BI Group, expressed appreciation for the seriousness and readiness of the Indonesian government in developing IKN.

“BI Group has undertaken numerous construction projects on a large scale, including the construction of a major city (Astana). With the explanation and presentation of the IKN project, we hope to bring back good news when we return to Kazakhstan,” said Palik.

Earlier, the IKN Authority also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with another Kazakhstani company, Sergek Projects, which operates in the technology sector.
