In an effort to enhance maritime connectivity and trade relations with overseas customers, PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) recently launched a novel direct shipping route to Russia.

The commencement of this service was marked by the arrival of the MV Boson at Terminal 3 of Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Director-General of IPC TPK, Guna Mulyana, detailed the unfolding of this strategic initiative in a media release on Wednesday. The MV Boson, operated by Sea Cargo Indonesia and owned by Pelayaran Econship and Vistar Line, now spearheads this pivotal route connecting Jakarta – Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Jebel Ali – Novorossiysk.

Mulyana highlighted the significance of this new route, elucidating its role in providing a time-efficient solution for businesses, thereby reducing transit times at international hub terminals. The route is specifically designed to cater to shipments destined for South Asia and Russia. Mulyana expressed hopes that the introduction of this service would streamline the transportation of goods to the targeted nations.

Looking toward the future, Mulyana affirmed IPC TPK’s commitment to fostering collaborative efforts and synergies. Such initiatives, he believes, will not only support the growth of import and export activities but also deliver practical solutions for service users who have placed their trust in IPC Terminal Petikemas.

“IPC TPK is dedicated to continually driving collaborations and synergies to enhance the flow of goods and reduce shipping costs to destination countries through the introduction of new services at IPC TPK terminals,” he said.

On a parallel note, Haans Satinder, the Liner Manager of Sea Cargo Indonesia, expressed optimism about the transformative impact of this new service on businesses grappling with transit time challenges. Satinder extended his gratitude to all parties involved in bringing this initiative to fruition.

The MV Boson, flying the flag of St Kitts & Nevis (KN), and boasting dimensions of 172 meters in length and 28 meters in width, is noted to have docked at Tanjung Priok Port with a cargo comprising 523 containers.
