Arsjad Rasjid, the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), has been appointed as the head of Ganjar Pranowo’s campaign team for the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.

Arsjad’s leadership was officially confirmed during a meeting attended by key political leaders, including Megawati Soekarnoputri (PDIP), Oeman Sapta Odang (Partai Hanura), Muhamad Mardiono (PPP), and Hary Tanoesoedibjo (Perindo), all of whom are part of the coalition supporting Ganjar’s candidacy.

Hary Tanoesoedibjo, the owner of MNC Group and Chairman of Perindo Party in his announcement of Arsjad’s appointment, praised him as a unifying figure with extensive capabilities and networks. Arsjad’s experience as the Chairman of Kadin further bolsters his qualifications for this role.

“With Arsjad Rasjid, we have someone widely accepted across the spectrum – intelligent, youthful, with an extensive network, and holding the position of Chairman of Kadin. These are qualities that we believe are crucial,” stated Hary.

This appointment marks the official formation of Ganjar Pranowo’s national campaign team, known as TPN (Tim Pemenangan Nasional). TPN’s headquarters will be located at the High End building in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, the same location that served as the campaign headquarters for President Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin during the 2024 Presidential Election. The inaugural meeting of TPN is scheduled for September 13, and subsequent meetings will be held regularly each week.

Ganjar Pranowo has received the backing of several political parties, including PDIP, Perindo, Hanura, and PPP, for his presidential candidacy. However, the selection of a vice-presidential candidate is yet to be finalized.

The General Election Commission (KPU) has not opened the registration period for presidential and vice-presidential candidates, with this process scheduled to begin in October.
