President Prabowo Subianto delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, underscoring Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining global peace and stability.

Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s strong role as a major contributor to UN Peacekeeping Forces and pledged to expand this contribution further.

“We are ready to deploy 20,000 of our sons and daughters to Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan if requested by this Assembly,” he declared.

Beyond military contributions, Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia is also prepared to provide financial support for peacekeeping efforts.

“Not only with troops, we are also ready to contribute financially to safeguard and ensure peace,” he said.

The Indonesian president stressed the indispensable role of the UN in maintaining peace and fostering international cooperation. He drew an example from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a UN body for aviation, which sets regulations that make it possible for world leaders to convene in New York for the General Assembly.

“Without the UN, we cannot be safe. Indonesia needs the UN, and Indonesia will continue to support a strong UN. Even though we are still struggling, we need a strong United Nations,” Prabowo said.
