Prabowo’s, businessmen’ India visits spur key MoUs in tech, health

The visit of President Prabowo Subianto and a number of Indonesian businessmen to India has produced a number of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) notes in various sectors from digital to health.

Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) said that the businessmen accompanying Prabowo had completed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Forum Indonesia-India which was attended by hundreds of businessmen from both countries.

“We live in a smart age, where there are more things we can do with technology. We also live in a geopolitical recession where there is a lot of polarization within the region, and we also live in a sustainable future,” Anindya said on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Anindya and Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, Special Envoy of the President for Climate Change and Energy & Chairman of the Advisory Board of KADIN led the Indonesian CEOs in the meeting.

Anindya said that a number of sectors agreed upon included food, agriculture, clean energy, technology, and human resources.

“As mentioned by Mr Ajay Shriram (Managing Director, DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd/ Chairman CII), the focus right now is on food and agriculture. Indonesia is very serious about partnering for food security and manufacturing, collaborating for mutual growth,” he cited.

In the event, six MoUs in the business sector were mace during the visit. Among others, PT Indosat signed cooperation with AIon OS India Private Limited for the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and with Wadhwani Operating Foundation for the field of digital talent.

Then the MoU of PT Sejahteraraya Anugrahjaya (Mayapada Healthcare Group) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited for the field of Operation Maintenance for hospital projects in Batam and digitalization diagnostics.

Meanwhile, the MoU between Nodeflux and XDXLink in the field of Low Orbit Earth satellites, AI technology, cooperation for disaster management, food security, mining monitoring and environmental sustainability.

As well as the MoU between Biotis, a producer of red and white vaccines and Biological E in the field of vaccine manufacturing and technology transfer from India to Indonesia.
