PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) has secured new contracts worth Rp15.5 trillion (US$996 million) by October 2024, with significant contributions from the infrastructure and building segments and key sectors like industry, property, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).

Agung Budi Waskito, President Director of WIKA, highlighted several major projects acquired in September, including the construction of the Sukamahi Dam Glass Bridge in West Java, road improvement in the Hankam area and the Sepaku 4 Ring Road in the Nusantara capital city (IKN) in East Kalimantan, and flood mitigation projects in Demak, Central Java. Numerous other contracts were also secured by both the parent company and its subsidiaries.

“This achievement reflects WIKA’s commitment to supporting the development of national strategic infrastructure, particularly in IKN. We are dedicated to ensuring each project is executed with the highest standards, operational efficiency, and continuous innovation to accelerate development and benefit the people of Indonesia,” Agung said in a statement on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

In addition to securing new contracts, WIKA is advancing several ongoing strategic projects, including the Rp945 billion Sepaku 4 Ring Road and Hankam Area Road Improvement in IKN. This project is an extension of the East National Axis Road construction.

WIKA is responsible for building a 6.89-kilometer road within the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP), linking the Hankam Area with the national road in Sepaku, bolstering the accessibility of this vital region. The project commenced in October 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2026.

During construction, WIKA is implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) Level 5D technology, which helps minimize planning errors, optimize costs, and accurately assess material requirements.

Additionally, WIKA is constructing a Multi-Utility Tunnel (MUT), designed to house various utility networks such as water pipes, electrical cables, and fiber optics, supporting modern infrastructure in IKN.

“Through this project, WIKA is committed to delivering infrastructure that enhances public accessibility while promoting connectivity in Ibu Kota Nusantara,” Agung concluded.
