The mineral water factory belonging to the mineral water emitter affiliated with conglomerate Hermanto Tanoko, namely PT Sariguna Primatirta (CLEO) of Tanobel Group, is officially operational in the New Capital City (IKN) of Nusantara.

Melisa Patricia, CEO of PT Sariguna Primatirta, said the factory’s operation signifies the company’s commitment to supporting the development of the new capital by investing and exploring market potential in the IKN region.

“The commencement of our factory in IKN is not only a strategic move to expand the supply chain distribution beyond Java but also holds significant symbolic meaning. CLEO is making a convincing investment in the new governmental center, located in the heart of the Republic of Indonesia,” Melisa said as quoted on Monday.

The Cleo mineral water factory is situated in Karya Merdeka, Samboja Subdistrict, Kutai Kartanegara, approximately 40 minutes from the IKN Zero Point. Notably, throughout 2023, the company allocated around IDR 300 billion (US$10.3 million) for factory construction, machinery procurement, and strengthening distribution networks through investments.

Consequently, Melisa added that Tanobel Group would kick off 2024 with ownership of 32 Cleo mineral water factories, making it the largest packaged drinking water producer in Indonesia. Beyond IKN, in 2024, the company plans to reinvest IDR 300 billion for new factory additions, existing factory development, machinery expansion for increased production capacity and automation, and the extension of distribution networks. With this aggressive expansion, the company remains optimistic that double-digit growth targets will be achieved annually, from top to bottom line, including in 2024.
