The Indonesia South and Central Asia (Inasca) 2024 Business Forum, held in Jakarta on Monday, October 7, 2024, produced a number of trade and investment deals worth US$ 8.3 billion.
“There have been many predictions and projections that emerging and developing countries and economies in Asia, including Indonesia and countries in South and Central Asia, will become the future engine of the global group By 2030. It is projected that 58 percent of the global GDP will be contributed by countries in Asia,” Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Pahala Mansury told the opening of the Inasca 2024.
With greater integration, stronger supply chain and resilience, Indonesia and Central and South Asia region can really materialize this projected group. But, Pahala suggested that this can only be achieved with greater cooperation, leveraging on countries respective strengths and also complementary risks.
“It is expected that this forum can be a platform to pursue this cooperation by enhancing market access for our respective products and encouraging interactions between business people ,” he said.
Pahala expressed his appreciation to all government and business representatives from Indonesia and Central and South Asian countries for attending the forum.
“Let us seize the opportunity to chart a path towards deeper collaboration and mutual prosperity. Together, we can unlock the true potential of Indonesia and South and Central Asia to create a future defined by shared success. And together, we can build a stronger and much more resilient economy that benefits our people,” he said.
There were six Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed to facilitate business partnerships between companies from Indonesia and South and Central Asia, namely:
- Between PT Kimia Farma and Yaden International,
- Between Pandawa Agri Indonesia and Oneemto (Pvt) Ltd.
- Between PT Natural Indococonut Organik and Industrial Stainless Steel Fabrication Pvt Ltd.
- Between the Ministry of Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan and PT Sterilyn Halal International
- Between Ministry of Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan and PT Nexport Global Network
- Between Ministry of Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan and Indonesia Eurasia International Council.
