Indonesian Military medical team on humanitarian mission in Raffah and El Arish

The Indonesian military medical task force for Gaza is on a humanitiarian mission support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Field Hospital in Raffah, Palestine and UAE’s Floating Hospital in El Arish, Egypt.

The 34-member task force is divided into two teams working in different locations and making sure that the people receive the much needed medical services.

“The first team of 25 medical workers, who arrived on August 10, 2024, is deployed at UAE Field Hospital in Raffah, and in UAE’s Floating Hospital in El Arish, Egypt,” Spokesman of the Indonesian Defense Ministry, Brigadier General Edwin Adrian Sumantha, said on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

The medical team in Raffah Field Hospital began their activities with the regular morning report, followed by doctors’ visit and examination of patients while other paramedics and nurse did their jobs based on their respective expertise.

Meanwhile, a total of 15 medical teams in the UAE Floating Hospital in El Arish, Egypt, not only perform routine checking, but also medical operation and physiotherapy.

On September 7, 2024, the second batch of 9 additional Indonesian military medical workers arrived in El Arish, Egypt, from Abu Dhabi with C130 Hercules aircraft owned by the UAE Air Force.

The Indonesian military medical team is tasked to help the people of Gaza, Palestine, who have become victims of conflict caused by Israel aggression.

Until now, the United Arab Emirates hospitals in Palestine and Al Arish in Egypt have served 48,704 people, including performing 1,780 medical operation activities.
