Jakarta − Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, met with Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Mathias Cormann in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

It is known that Indonesia has just entered an important stage in OECD membership, namely the accession process. In this process, Indonesia is required to submit an initial memorandum to fulfil the standards and requirements of OECD membership.

At this step of the accession process, Indonesia is only one step away from becoming a member of the OECD. This will be a new history for Indonesia that Indonesia is the first country from Southeast Asia to become a candidate for OECD membership. So far, 38 countries have supported Indonesia to join the OECD.
