KPK bars Hary Tanoe’s brother from traveling abroad over social aid corruption probe
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has imposed a travel ban on Bambang Rudijanto Tanoesoedibjo, the elder brother of businessman and Perindo Party founder Hary Tanoesoedibjo, in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption in the distribution of rice aid for beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in the 2020 fiscal year.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said Rudijanto has been barred from leaving Indonesia for six months, effective August 12, 2025. Three other individuals have also been subject to the same restriction.
“KPK has issued a travel ban against four individuals with the initials ES, BRT, KJT, and HER (HT),” Budi said as quoted in a statement on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
He cited that the measure was taken to ensure Rudijanto’s availability for questioning as the anti-graft body proceeds with its ongoing investigation. Rudijanto currently serves as President Commissioner of PT Dosni Roha Logistik.
Sources close to the investigation reveal that three other individuals are:
● Edi Suharto, Special Advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs for Social Change and Dynamics, who previously served as Director General of Social Empowerment and Director General of Social Rehabilitation at the ministry;
● Kanisius Jerry Tengker, President Director of PT Dosni Roha Logistik (2018–2022);
● Herry Tho, Operational Director of PT Dosni Roha Logistik (2021–2024).
All four have previously been questioned by KPK investigators. So far, the anti-corruption agency has announced two corporate suspects and two individual suspects in the case, but has not yet revealed their identities. Initial calculations by investigators estimate potential state losses of around Rp200 billion (US$12.3 million).
The case that implicates Rudijanto is a follow-up investigation linked to the graft scandal involving former Social Affairs Minister Juliari Peter Batubara, who was earlier convicted in connection with social aid distribution.
