The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has requested explanation from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) following a raid by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on two of its offices.

The raid is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption related to the procurement of electronic data capture (EDC) machines between 2020 and 2024, involving a total budget of Rp2.1 trillion (US$130 million).

During the operation on June 26, 2025 KPK investigators seized various documents, bank records, and electronic evidence from BRI’s headquarters located in Sudirman and another office in Gatot Subroto, Jakarta. The case remains in its early stages, with investigators still compiling evidence and verifying the involvement of multiple parties.

Corporate Secretary of BRI, Agustya Hendy Bernadi, emphasized the bank's full support for the legal process and its commitment to cooperate with authorities.

“The company respects the legal enforcement actions of KPK regarding the procurement conducted during the 2020–2024 period and will always remain open to cooperation,” Agustya wrote in an official disclosure to the IDX on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

He added that BRI’s new management remains focused on advancing its transformation initiative known as BRIvolution 3.0, aimed at strengthening the bank’s operational and business fundamentals in support of President Prabowo Subianto’s national development vision, Asta Cita.

Agustya further noted that the bank is committed to upholding good corporate governance, complying with all government and regulatory requirements, and enhancing risk management systems. All operations, he said, continue to run in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and applicable laws.

“We ensure that all activities will continue in accordance with SOPs and prevailing regulations. The ongoing legal process has no impact on BRI’s operations and services. Therefore, customers can continue to transact normally, comfortably, and safely,” he said.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo confirmed the seizure of financial documents and other records during the raids. The materials will be analyzed to trace the flow of funds and uncover the roles of various parties in the suspected corruption scheme.

“There are financial records that will be further examined to determine where the suspected corrupt funds were directed and how the individuals involved played their parts in the EDC procurement,” Budi said on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

He added that the KPK is still gathering and verifying all necessary evidence and will later disclose the identities of those responsible for the alleged misconduct. On the same day as the raids, former BRI Deputy CEO Catur Budi Harto was summoned for questioning as a witness in the newly launched investigation.
