The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) is in the process of requesting the issuance of Interpol Red Notices and Wanted Person Lists (DPO) for oil tycoon Riza Chalid and former special staff member to then Education Minister Nadiem Makarim, Jurist Tan.

AGO Spokesman Aang Supriatna said on Monday, August 4, 2025 that the authorities are compiling and completing the necessary documentation to proceed with the international pursuit.

“The process is ongoing as we complete all data requirements, including summons mechanisms. Once all conditions are met, we will submit the request,” Anang said.

According to Interpol's official site, a Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

Anang added that the AGO will coordinate internally and with the International Relations Division (Hubinter) of the National Police. Once the process is complete and approved, the case will be forwarded to Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France.

“If approved, the Red Notice will be announced globally, and immigration systems in all countries will be notified,” he said.

Riza Chalid, who was officially named a suspect on July 11, 2025 in connection with a graft scandal within the State energy company Pertamina, was scheduled to appear for questioning as a suspect on Monday. However, he failed to respond to the summons for the third time.

Similarly, Jurist Tan, a suspect in the procurement of Chromebook for schools across the country, has also ignored three consecutive summonses. As a result, investigators are preparing to take coercive legal measures to bring him back to Indonesia.
